形態

<外部形態>

 全長 40-60 mm (Ohfuchi, 1957a; 大淵・山口, 1965)体幅 1.5 (Ohfuchi, 1957a; 大淵・山口, 1965)体節数 115-129 (Ohfuchi, 1957a; 大淵・山口, 1965)

 第一背孔は第 4/5 体節間溝 (Ohfuchi, 1957a; 大淵・山口, 1965) に開口する。口前葉は proepilobous (Ohfuchi, 1957a)

 剛毛はルンブリクス型で、対ごとの距離は等間隔 (Ohfuchi, 1957a)。第 17 体節以降では aa の間隔は広がる (Ohfuchi, 1957a)。第 17 体節には2タイプの性的剛毛があり、各剛毛の先端には 4〜6 個以上の小さな刻みもしくは棘がある (Ohfuchi, 1957a)。性的剛毛のうち一つは長くて先端が表皮から現れ、湾曲している (Ohfuchi, 1957a)。もう一方の性的剛毛は小さく直線的 (Ohfuchi, 1957a)

 環帯は鞍型で、第 14-18 体節にあり、側面の腺細胞の発達は弱い (Ohfuchi, 1957a)。環帯の部分には、体節間溝や剛毛を欠く (Ohfuchi, 1957a)。環帯の腹面はとても細い溝状であり、第 15-17 体節まで続く (Ohfuchi, 1957a)雄性孔は第 17 体節 (Ohfuchi, 1957a)。Ohfuchi (1957a) は、雌性孔は第 14 体節腹面に 1 個あると述べているが、体内では輸卵管が分かれて開口すると述べており、通常、本種は雌性孔が 2 個に分かれているが、誤記もしくは見落とした可能性がある (南谷, 私見)。受精嚢孔は第 7/8/9 体節間溝に 2 対であるが (Ohfuchi, 1957a; 大淵・山口, 1965)、孔はほとんど見えない (Ohfuchi, 1957a)

 

<内部形態>

 隔膜は第 9/10/11 体節間溝でとても厚く、第 11/12 でやや厚い (Ohfuchi, 1957a)

 素嚢は大きい (Ohfuchi, 1957a)砂嚢は第 7-8 体節にある (Ohfuchi, 1957a)。第 13 体節以降は腸管が拡大する (Ohfuchi, 1957a)石灰腺は 3 対あるが腸管への開口部は 1 個であり、開口部は第 15/16 体節間溝の腸管の背面に開口する (Ohfuchi, 1957a)

 受精嚢は 2 対で、第 8 体節と第 10 体節にある (Ohfuchi, 1957a)。受精嚢の主嚢はひょうたん型で、とても小さく、導管もとても短く、副嚢を欠く (Ohfuchi, 1957a)貯精嚢は小さく、第 11-12 体節の隔膜の後ろ側にある (Ohfuchi, 1957a)。卵巣は第 13 体節 (Ohfuchi, 1957a)卵巣嚢は 2 個あり、第 13/14 体節間溝から第14 体節に開口する (Ohfuchi, 1957a)輸卵管の開口部は 2 ヶ所に分かれ、その開口部は第 14 体節の全幅を占める (Ohfuchi, 1957a)輸精管は 2 つに分かれて開口し (Ohfuchi, 1957a)、その間に乳頭状突起により1つずつ分けられている (大淵・山口, 1965)摂護腺は管状で、第 17 体節に限られる (Ohfuchi, 1957a)。摂護腺の筋肉質部分は長い (Ohfuchi, 1957a)

 国外では、スウェーデン (Erséus et al., 1994)、インド (Stephenson, 1920, 1923, 1931b)、スリランカ (Michaelsen, 1903; Stephenson, 1923)、ミャンマー (Stephenson, 1931; Gates, 1958; Reynolds, 2009b; Csuzdi et al., 2015)、マレーシア (Gates, 1949c)、台湾 (Tsai et al., 2009)、オーストラリア (Michaelsen, 1935)、ハワイ諸島 (Reynolds, 2015v)、アメリカ合衆国 (Gates, 1942a; Csuzdi, 1997)、メキシコ (Huerta et al., 2007)、コロンビア (Feijoo & Celis, 2012)、エクアドル (Csuzdi & Zicsi, 1991)、ベネズエラ (Zicsi, 1996; Rhigi, 1996)、ブラジル (Righi, 1968, 1984; Brown & James, 2006; Sautter et al., 2006; Bartz et al., 2009)、ボリビア (Csuzdi & Zicsi, 1991)ガボン (James & Divina, 2012)、ウガンダ (Csuzdi, 1997)、コンゴ民主共和国 (Gates, 1982)、南アフリカ (Michaelsen, 1913c; Sims, 1978; Horn et al., 2007; Nxele, 2012) に分布する。ただし、スウェーデンやアメリカ合衆国では主に温室で記録され、野外からは記録されていない (Erséus et al., 1994)

 また、中国やエクアドル、ブラジルからアメリカ合衆国に輸入された植物の土壌から本種が発見されている (Gates, 1982)

備考

 Easton (1981) は、Ohfuchi (1957a) により記載された hatomaana は本種のシノニムとした。その後、Csuzdi (1995)bolaui のシノニムとしたものの、Blakemore (2003, 2008d) は本種のシノニムとしている。Ohfuchi (1957) は雌性孔が 1 個のみと記述した一方で、輸卵管は別れて開口し、その開口部は第 14 体節の全幅を占めると述べ、図も同様の形態に描かれている。また、摂護腺が 1 対であるとしている。bolaui は雌性孔は 1 個、摂護腺は 2 対であり、本種は雌性孔は 2 個で摂護腺は 1 対である。これらの特徴から、本種のシノニムであると考えられる (Easton, 1981; Blakemore, 2008d)

 なお、Blakemore (2012b)hatomaana を疑問符付きで本種と bolaui の双方のシノニムとしている。このような記述は一義的に整理することが出来ず、分類学的な混乱を引き起こすだけであるため、避けるべきである。
